Ordering Information
When will my order be despatched?
Our aim is to despatch all orders of 'In Stock' items within 24 hours. If you place your order on Saturday or Sunday, it will be despatched on the following Monday.
If you place your order on a Bank Holiday, we will despatch your order on the following working day.
A percentage of the bikes we sell are checked over by a mechanic prior to despatch. This generally applies to mid-range and high-end bikes. Ordinarily these bikes are still despatched on the same day, as described above. During busy periods, bikes requiring a pre-despatch inspection may be despatched 1-2 working days after the date of order.
How do I know if the item I want is available?
Availability of our products is shown on the website:
- In Stock - indicates that the product is in stock with us.
- In Stock with suppliers - indicates that the product is in stock with our suppliers, and will be shipped out to you as soon as it arrives in stock with us. Mostly, this takes 2-3 days unless otherwise indicated.
- In stock - despatched from suppliers - Indicates that the product is in stock with our suppliers and shipped directly from them to you
- Preorder - indicates that the product is not in stock with us, but is normally available to order from our supplier within 7 working days. If the supplier does not have stock, we will email you within 2 working days with more accurate availability information.
Your payment will be processed and your card debited as soon as you submit your order by clicking the 'Pay Now' button. If you wish to check how long it will take to source a Preorder item, please email [email protected] or speak to our sales team on 01942 707646.
Bikes - How are they delivered?
If you order a complete bike, it will be shipped in a cardboard bike box and will be in a state of partial assembly. As a guide, we say that bikes will be around 80% complete when delivered. The final bits of assembly will need to be completed either by you or by your local bike shop if you need help.
Higher value bikes are built by one of our mechanics and fully checked over before despatch. This involves a complete inspection of the bike and all of its components, during which the brakes will be set up and the gears will be indexed. Once this process is complete, it is necessary to partially disassemble the bike to pack it for safe transit.
When you receive a bike, the most common things you will need to do are: fit the front wheel, fit the handlebars into the stem, tighten the headset bolt, attach the seat/seatpost, attach pedals, attach any extras e.g baskets. You will also need to set up or check the setup of the brakes and gears.
To complete the assembly of a mailorder bike you will need some basic bike knowledge and we do always recommend that a mechanic assemble the bike for you if you are not confident. It is particularly important to set the brakes and gears up correctly before your first ride. Even if the brakes and gears were set up by us before despatch, it is still important that you check the alignment and function carefully before going for a proper ride.
Please give us a call if you need any advice, we're always happy to help!
